WHAT ARE THESE THINGS FOR?
Here is a break down of what each item listed here is.

  1. Housing Allowance - This is how much money we will have for housing (an appartment, house, ect).
  2. Salary -  This is what we will use for day to day expenses such as food, utilities, clothing, transportation, and personal offerings/gifts.
  3. Ministry Expenses - This will cover things related to our ministry such as travel, equipment, materials, and other ministry projects.
  4. HA Travel Reserve - HA stands for Home Assignment.  Rather than needing to raise money for travel when we  come back to the USA to connect with churches and suporters, we set back this amount monthly.
  5. Insurance - This includes premiums for medical, dental, and vision.  It also includes medical emergency evacuation insurance in the event that any of us needed to be evacuated to a country with better medical care in an emergency.
  6. Administration costs - This includes support for many things, such as...
    * Shared team resources such as buildings or equipment that many of us use.
    * Receipting for all donations.
    * Resources to help us share our vision and the vision of SIM
    * Help in navigating the world of visas, passports, and other legal aspects of international travel and living.
    * Team training and consulting on the field.
    * Member care.
    * Other operating expenses for many international sending bases and an international headquarters office.

  7. HA Housing Reserve - Again, HA means Home Assignment.  This is an amount we set back so that we have adequate finances for housing in the USA.
  8. Retirement 403 (b) - If, by God's desire and plan we come to an age of retirement, we can use this money to lessen the need for outside financial support.  This does not mean that when we come to retirement age that we stop ministry.  We have full plans and intentions of being involved in ministry as long as we are physical able.
  9. Taxes - Missionaries pay something equivalent to FICA (income tax), called the SECA tax.
